Annual credit report

Don’t forget you can get your free annual credit report to check your accounts. For an extra $8 you can see your FICO score. Now that I’ve paid off all of my credit card debt, I found this really annoying:

Lenders usually take a positive view of individuals with a range of credit accounts - car loan, credit cards, mortgage, etc. - that have a record of timely payments. However, a high debt to credit ratio on certain types of revolving (credit card) accounts and installment loans will typically have a negative impact.

I had a good credit rating, but all of my debt is student loans. So what? I’m supposed to go out and carry over credit card debt to get a better FICO score?

There will be missteps with this President, but he is thoughtful and shares my values--ultimately I think he will make the right decisions. I'm so proud and grateful that we have him in the White House.
